Enterprise Weekly #419: Call for Generative AI Regulation, Seed Fundraising Template, and More
Companies like Microsoft and Google are developing AI at startup speed with global deployment.
This week, the industry reflected on the potential impact of this race dynamic. Over 1,500 AI and tech leaders, including Elon Musk, signed an open letter calling on developers to “pause giant AI experiments” for 6 months. In that time, the hope is AI labs will create and implement better safety protocols or form independent regulation processes to ensure future systems are safe to deploy.
Similarly, the Federal Trade Commission is facing pressure to suspend OpenAI’s commercial deployment of LLMs, including ChatGPT, as complaints roll in claiming the company violates part of a FTC act that prohibits unfair and deceptive business practices for AI products.
Over the next 10 years, Goldman Sachs predicts generative AI will impact over 3 million jobs and boost GDP by 7%. So, why stop the progress now? Besides a slew of accuracy and privacy concerns raised for enterprise-grade deployment, some believe developers are in an “out-of-control race” to create and deploy ML systems “that no one — not even their creators — can understand, predict, or reliably control.”
Even though generative AI has taken the world by storm, we're yet to see how regulation and AI ethics will impact the technology moving forward.
Lastly, we put together an “ICP Definition & GTM Planning” template to help founders build a narrative around their go-to-market vision to generate investor interest. At the Seed-stage, enterprise startups are often pre-revenue with little-to-no customer logos. This template helps give Seed investors a glimpse into how founders think, strategize, and understand the market, in order to best visualize the company’s future scale. 🚀
