Cybersecurity exits are heating up 📈
On Thursday, cloud security giant Netskope made its public debut on the NASDAQ, raising $902M and hitting a $7.3B market cap. Like many “overnight” successes, this one was a decade in the making. Founder Sanjay Beri launched Netskope in 2012 after leaving Juniper Networks, betting early on paradigm shifts reshaping enterprise security—SaaS, mobile, and remote work. Starting in the CASB (cloud access security broker) category, Netskope steadily expanded into security, networking, and analytics.
For founders eyeing the enterprise, Netskope is a masterclass. The company is now at $707M ARR, growing revenue 33% YoY, while still charting a path to free cash flow positive this year. Its go-to-market muscle shows in its customer base: 30% of the Fortune 100 and 18% of the Fortune 2000 now run on Netskope.
But Netskope wasn’t the only big move in cyber this week. CrowdStrike acquired Pangea for $260M, and Check Point picked up Lakera for $300M.
Pangea’s products—like AI Guard (prevents sensitive data leakage) and Prompt Guard (blocks jailbreak attempts) fit neatly into CrowdStrike’s push into AI Detection & Response (AIDR), giving enterprises visibility across the AI lifecycle.
Check Point’s bet on Lakera centers on securing AI models and agents end-to-end: pre-deployment posture assessments, real-time runtime enforcement, and continuous red teaming. Lakera sits at the intersection of offensive security and runtime protection, two of the hottest pain points in AI right now.
The common thread: enterprises are already pulling hard for AI-native security platforms, and acquirers are moving early, both Pangea and Lakera exited within just four years of founding. With AI promising massive upside but carrying equally potent risks, it’s clear security platforms will be the enablers that let enterprises adopt AI with confidence.
