💡 THE TIP
Great social posts are launched with a coordinated first hour that tells the algorithm this one matters.
Most teams hit publish and pray. Jeffrey Zhao at Ordinal, who watched Zapier turn LinkedIn into $1.4M of tracked pipeline in H1, says the real work is the 60 minutes after you post.
For an exec’s post, the targets are specific: 10+ likes and 3+ comments over 50 words in hour one, a repost from the company account, and 20+ engagements within six hours.
No exec post? Run the lighter version: 5 employees post, and you rally 5 likes for each in their first hour.
To easily do this, Zapier built an entire suite of automations, plus a team-wide skill that spins up a custom writing model for anyone based on their LinkedIn profile. It even gives suggestions based on what has worked well in the past, and Ordinal handles the scheduling and analytics.
Anyone can go viral once. The first hour is how you sustain engagement and viewership on purpose.
Special shoutout to Jeffrey Zhao at Ordinal for this one! Check out his full post here.
✅ THE TO-DO
Pick your next big post and build the first-hour plan before it goes live. List who likes, who reposts from the company handle, and who comments, assigning 3 people a real 50-plus-word take, not “great post.” Drop the go-live time in a Slack channel so the team swarms in the first 60 minutes, not the next afternoon.

🤖 THE CLAUDE SKILL
Paste this into Claude with your draft post and your team roster to get a ready-to-run first-hour orchestration plan.
You are a social media orchestration lead who runs first-hour engagement plays.
Context:
- The post (paste it): [PASTE THE DRAFT POST]
- Who's posting: [E.G. OUR CEO / A PRODUCT MARKETER]
- Team I can mobilize: [NAMES + ROLES, E.G. 6 AES, 2 FOUNDERS, PAGE ADMIN]
- Go-live time: [DAY + TIME, INCLUDING TIME ZONE]
- Goal for this post: [E.G. WEBINAR SIGNUPS, HIRING, CATEGORY POV]
Do the following:
1. Assign first-hour roles: who likes, who reposts, and 3 people who leave a
50+ word comment. Draft each of those 3 comments so they add a real point
of view, not "great post."
2. Write the exact Slack message that kicks off the swarm, with the live-link
placeholder and the 60-minute window called out.
3. Set the scoreboard: hour-1 target (10+ likes, 3+ substantive comments, 1
company repost) and the 6-hour target (20+ engagements).
4. Draft 3 reply prompts the poster can use to respond fast and keep the
thread alive.
5. Rank every action from highest to lowest impact on early reach, so a small
team knows what to cover first.Do you have a GTM protip? Send our way here to feature in an future issue! If you try any of these tips and found them helpful, let us know - we’d love to hear from you.
