Enterprise Weekly #395: Closing The Gender Pay Gap, #Womenterprise Research, and More
This week, J. Thelander Consulting revealed that while the gender pay gap in PE and VC is shrinking overall, it widens as firms’ AUM and job title increase, in terms of both cash and carry.
Thinking through what this means, it’s likely most senior leaders (ie. those with the most influence) are still predominantly men, with women holding more junior rankings. This may be a sign that the gender diversity movement is still in its early days and/or that women are recognizing the disparity and leaving the field in search of better opportunities.
Either way, the gender disparity in firms reflects the gender disparity we see in funding for female-founded startups, where there’s only been marginal improvement in the last year. The solution?

Unfortunately, we know that these numbers are even worse when we talk specifically about female-founded enterprise startups (see our 2021 #Womenterprise Report for more data).
With so much more to do here, we’re kicking off research for our updated #Womenenterprise Report and we have one favor to ask our community:
🚨If you are or know any enterprise female founders, please send them our way so we can add then to our Women Founders of Enterprise Startups Database and keep our data as comprehensive as possible.🚨
